Hi Glenn,

The lights arrived in ABQ and were installed at Sandia BMW.  They did a great job on the installation.  I sure needed them when I left in the dark at 5 am two days in a row.  I'm not sure I would have had the confidence to do that with just the stock headlight.  It was not only dark but light rain leaving from Joplin, Missouri.

Thanks for the quick service.

Hi Glen and Lorett:

I was involved in the Dallas LED shoot out a few weeks back, I participated with Glenda lights as I had recently ordered the Darla lights during your March discounted pricing but didn’t receive them before I went down to Dallas.
I really liked the Glenda lights and people would comment to me that they could definitely see me in their mirrors when I was behind them, much better than with just the low beam of my K1600GT. I wanted something more that would also aid me in night riding visibility. The Darlas are great and I LOVE them :o) Thanks for having such a great product!

Thanks again for your generosity,

Steve E.

After reading all the great reviews on the BMW forums about your lights, I pre-ordered my Darla’s and Erica’s prior to owning my bike. And also prior to the Erica’s release date. I had the Darla’s installed before I ever sat on my bike for the first time, then rode my brand new bike with 10 miles on it all the way from Gina’s BMW in Iowa City, IA to Daytona, FL for bike week, then back to Iowa.

Time was an issue, so the ride down to Florida and back saw me run nights. All I can say is “WOW”. I’ve been running L.E.D. lights on Harley’s ever since they came out and thought that they had the best that money can buy. Man was I wrong! These Darla’s at night mounted to the forks provided more light down the road than what I got from spending $1100 on lights for the Harley. I had a good 6-7 seconds of vision in front of me on a dark night running at Highway speeds. When I hit my high-beams, and everything went to 100% power, night turned to day. I had to be careful not to blind other vehicles at night, so I ran with my Darla’s turned to about 30%. During the day, I ran them at 100% and people would typically get out of my way.

One thing that I can absolutely say is that people see me, daytime, and night-time, and that made me feel safe. I was riding north out of Key West at around 2am following a group of Harley’s. While sitting at a red light, they motioned me to the shoulder, they wanted information on my Darla’s. What surprised me was that they told me that they hadn’t been blinded when I was following them. Yes, I had them pointed somewhat downward, and the power was turned down, but these lights even on low are damned bright. They light up the road ahead and really impressed those Harley guys.

To sum up this letter. I just want to say thank you for increasing the visual impact I make on surrounding traffic, and also allowing me to see the road better ahead of me. You have made my life safer! I can’t wait to install the Erica’s, they will be great for those long lonesome nights that I crave.

My next order? Certainly a Clearwater flashlight for the tank bag.

Thank you Glenn and Lorett. You have a wonderful product line, and I’m a fan!

James D.

Glenn/Lorett,

Just wanted to let you know I installed my Glenda lights this weekend and am very impressed with the product. I can’t even put them on 100% brightness since they are so bright, I just wanted to say you guys have a very nice product and wish you guys all the best. Thanks for helping me with this purchase.

Thanks,

Mike F.

"Thanks again for creating these lights. I have both Glendas and Krista's on the bike and can't wait for the ice and snow to melt a bit for getting out. I'm also waiting for the big yellow spot in my field of vision to go away after I looked directly at the lights on full bright...HA!"

Greetings -

A&S just installed a set of Kristas on my '09 BMW GSA. Last night was my first opportunity to use them at dusk/dark. Wow. After about six minutes (of a thirty minute ride out toward Loomis and Penryn) I was reminded of that question that comes along now and again (like when I met my wife - sorta): "How did I ever get along without this?"

As I maintain a seldom-read blog about Northern California Motorcycle riding, I thought you might be interested in my post about the product.

http://thechurchoftheopenroad.blogspot.com/2012/08/clearwater-krista-running-lights.html

Congratulations on a well engineered, highly functional product that will make a whole lot of us a whole lot safer on the road.

Dave D.

I have Kristas on my BMW R1200GS and have for about a year. I have them on all the time, day and night. My bike was getting serviced and I took the dealership loaner bike home for the night. On my way to the dealership this morning, the driver of a delivery truck looked left to check traffic to pull out of a driveway. I saw him look and figured he saw me. As always, I went into my defensive awareness mode, but I couldn’t believe when he just pulled out. I hit the brakes and avoided a collision. I thought to myself how did he not see me? I haven’t had that happen in such a long time. Then realizing that the loaner bike did not have your lights on it, and right then and there I knew that your lights have “saved me” countless times and I just take them for granted. Thank You for making motorcycle riding safer. I’ll throw out a “tag line” here. Put Clearwater Lights on your bike. Be Seen and Be Safe.

Thanks Again!

Kurt A.

Glenn Stasky,

I know you get lot's of emails about how good the Krista lights work and I'm really impressed with them too, but I just wanted to "Thank You" and "your crew" for such good service at the 40th MOA Rally. It's always gratifying to feel like your business is appreciated and that's the way all of your crew and you made me feel!

So the best thing I think I can do for you is send you more business ... and you can surely count on that!

Sincerely,

Bill W., Owass, OK

Hey guys...A huge shout out for the quality of the light kit.  My buddy, who happens to be a retired electrical engineer, helped me (ok, I helped him) install the lights a couple weeks ago.  I couldn't be happier.  The overall quality of the wiring harness, the mounts, and the lights is spectacular.  He made numerous comments during the install on what a great quality product the Glendas are.

I'm following a potential group buy though the 1050 Tiger forum.  If the lads there can get enough folks to sign up, I'm going to pick up a pair for my son's 2012 800 Tiger.

Thanks again for super customer service - something that seems to be lacking nowadays.

Chris C., Fayetteville, NC

Dear Sir,

My 1200GS battery was 5 years old.  I knew a battery was going to be needed but all seemed well.  I ordered and put on your Clearwater Voltage Sensor.  It fit well on my bike dash and it was giving me good readings for a month or two.  Then it started showing me yellow so I ordered a new battery.  When the battery arrived I went out to start the GS and turning the key, the sensor showed red and the GS was absolutely dead.  This saved me from getting stuck somewhere, it told me not to charge up the bike and ride anywhere or maybe I'd be stuck there.  Because I was at home it was easy to slip in the new battery.

Just a one time testimonial but this is needed on the Oilheads.
Thank You,

Bruce H., Yuba City

I purchased amber Glendas for my BMW K1200 GT to improve the frontal signature of the bike. My friends constantly comment that the bike really stands out in oncoming traffic. There is no doubt that the lights have increased my safety by improving my conspicuity.

There are several products to triangulate your frontal signature but Clearwater stands above its competition for several reasons. First, the dimable high intensity LEDs mean no more carrying spare bulbs - thank you Glenn. Secondly, the build quality of all the components is first class, example: the mounts are powder coated stainless steel. After forty thousand miles, no bulbs have burned out and all the components look great. And lastly, I just admire the people in this company. They believed that they could design and build the best product, and they did. I'm sure that the personal sacrifice and financial risk was, and is, substantial, but the effort shows. I will be installing another set on my next bike.

To all at Clearwater Lights:

I ordered some red Kristas to be installed on my 2012 HD Road Glide and could not be HAPPIER.

My comments:

1. Well made, great craftsmanship.
2. Attention to detail.
3. Excellent light output.
4. Easy installation.

And as important, the sales staff was so helpful and patient and PROFESSIONAL.
I can sum it up in one sentence: I am impressed.

I have been riding for 40 years and have dealt with many aftermarket companies.
Yours ranks right up there!
Please extend my appreciation to all. In these times of marginal workmanship and outsourced production, it is a refreshing to see such pride in making a great product.

I am will forward some pics of my new Kristas on my Road Glide.

Sincerely,

Todd N., Chippewa Falls, WI

Hello, folks,
I finished installing my new Krista lights on my 2009 BMW R1200RT yesterday, and they are WONDERFUL!! I wired the hot trigger wire to the low beam wire as your Glenda instructions show. I especially like the BMR Products brackets you sell with the light kit for the RT; they install easily in a great location beneath the mirror housings. I use other BMR products and believe them of the highest quality, a fitting companion to your quality lights. The other lights on the bike are HID replacement low beams, stock halogen high beam and a set of LightForce 170 Striker 100W halogens mounted over the mirrors on the police bike mounts.

I went out for a test ride this morning at 3:30 a.m. during the darkest part of the night, and I was blown away! Using only the low beams, the Kristas set at about half strength  nicely filled in the spaces left by the HID low beams, especially the center of the road at a distance just right for spotting immediate road hazards, such as the walking skunk I would have hit without the Kristas to light up the white stripe. They also give a little bit more distance vision than the HID low beams alone. Then I hit the high beams, and the world really lit up down the road. I would have no reluctance to ride at 65-70 mph with just the bikes lights (HID low beams & halogen high beam) and the Kristas with no fear of overdriving the beams. With the LightForce halogens (with combination lenses—spot & spread together—installed) lit up along with the Kristas, which gives a bit more lighting far down the center of the road and fills in some off to the side of the road from their higher position, I finally have the full lighting solution I've been looking for on my night rides. The only improvement I could make now would be to convert the LightForce halogens to HID.

Another plus with the Kristas is that in addition to their nighttime performance they fulfill the other purpose for motorcycle lighting, being seen during the day. And, if someone still fails to see the light display of the Kristas and HID low beams, the Kristas coming up to full intensity with a press of my loud horn will come close to waking the dead, and should thoroughly  wake up any driver texting or reading the newspaper while commuting to work in the morning and drifting over into my lane.

I showed off the Kristas yesterday to a few fellow riders gathered at my local BMW dealer for Saturday social hour, and they were impressed even in the clear sunny daylight. I'm sure they would have been truly impressed had they been following along on my early morning ride today.

I can't leave without complimenting everyone I've had contact with there at Clearwater Lights. I talked to Glenn when I first called and ended up ordering my lights over the phone from him, taking advantage of the July special. Later when I had a self-inflicted problem, I talked to Loretta and Scott, then Loretta again to order a replacement harness. I was impressed by their professionalism and friendly, fast assistance. I was also gratified to note not even a hint of a snicker when I told each of them in succession of my problem and its cause. The  replacement parts arrived three days later by Priority Mail. (BTW, I received a different version of the harness with the switch ground built into the harness, and really like that change. The RT does not have a good place to attach a ground up in the front of the bike, and incorporating the ground into the main is a major improvement from my perspective.)

Again, thanks for all your support. I'm truly enjoying your product and look forward to seeing more from your company.

Glenn: I posted a full update on the R1200R board and have been getting quite a few read hits. Locally, I am getting a lot of great comments about the Kristas, so we may have some more BMW guys with them. The mechanics at BMW Baton Rouge were very impressed too.

Have a great weekend!

Took the bike out after dark last night and WOW!

Usable even at 15% but starts getting really good at 40% or so. Did not have anyone 'flash' me so I guess off axis isn't bad on oncoming drivers, even at 50%. I did start with them angled low to where the center of the beams was about 50 feet out. Need to come up because when you dial it up that area gets so "overexposed" with light it's actually hard on the users eyes!

Amazing product, great build quality, incredible customer support all add up to more than what was paid for!

Will send some pics tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

Brian H.

I installed your "glenda" lights on my 2011 BMW F800GS and the only word that comes to mind is WOW! These lights are wickedly intense. I justified the expense for my safety and the hopes of increasing my visibility for oncoming drivers or drivers pulling into my path. You can't miss these lights. They are vivid!!!!!

Greetings Lorett,

Just a short note thanking you for the excellent product & service. Every where I go I've had people ask me about the Krista's I mounted on my R1150GSA. They're all impressed by the lights themselves admiring there compact package and when I turn them on they're totally blown away.

It was quite a surprise unexpectantly meeting Glenn at Elkhart Lake at the AMA races when he stopped to look at the bike. We had a pleasant chat and I told him how much I loved his product.

Thanks again and we'll see you guys in Bloomsburg in July.

Best,
George D.

The Lights are every bit as great as when installed a year ago...

"I feel strongly to again say how much I appreciate ...Glendas and Kristas...on my bike increasing my comfort...riding and protecting me by making it so much more visible.  The bike now has 133k miles ('04) and I rode 26k miles in 2010.  So I'm over 30k miles with the lights.  I have little fear riding at night and am able to handle inclement weather because of the lights.  I also am ALWAYS seen by cagers where ever I go. I am convinced the lights have saved me from devastation or death if I would be riding the same without them.

"The dimmer feature may be the best part...I run them on 1/4-1/3 during the day...1/2 when dusk or low light cloudy and full in the black of night rolling down the interstate.  I dunno (LOL), folks seem to hurry to get out of my way. It's a great feeling to leave the electronic cruise on "79mph" and just go with vehicles moving out the way with trepidation (LOL).

"I have scheduled attending EOM in Tennessee again this year with the FJR crowd, and will again promote your wonderful product....
Well, thanks again...they are definitely the best farkle installed on the bike..."

Hello Glenn / Lorett

Just wanted to let you know that I received the previously missing parts which you sent. All accounted for and in good order. Thank you very much for your prompt attention to the problem - much appreciated.

I've been able to complete my upgrading of the 'electrical's (Heat-Troller plug-ins, Stebel air horn, Garmin GPS harness and many other enhancements) to my F800st. I've attached a picture of it with the Glenda's mounted.

I will send other pictures (more detailed) later. Spring is here and my face hurts - insured a bike on Saturday and can't stop grinning.

Thanks again,

Richard D., Prince George, BC

Clearwater -

The Glenda lights are great. They're brighter than I was expecting. I barely turn the pod switch a quarter turn and they're too bright. I have a 2007 Suzuki Bandit, 1250 and the install to a front fender screw hole was easy. Just make sure your long screws go all the way through to the fender reinforced bracket that comes standard with the bike. Also, the power wire to the high beam is yellow, the white wire is power for the low beem. Go behind the speedometer and check the pigtail of wires for your power wires. They're might be a little black tape in the way, so just pull off enough to fasten your connectors.

I have a 4 year old stock battery and these lights never tax it. As aforementioned, you will never need the full brightness these lights can produce.

Hello Glenn,

10 months after, through day to day riding for work or pleasure in this part of Canada, the Glendas provided plenty of attention (info request, cost, performance, replacement,...) from others including police, seniors, car drivers and riders. My F800GS 30th anniversary traveled just over 8000 miles. Our 2010-2011 rain season from Oct to Apr has been beyond normal with average temperature of +4C (38F) with some peaks at -10C (-5F), under more continuous wet days (heavy rainstorms, showers and mud) and occasional snowstorms on this City from Vancouver Island (BC, Canada). Days and nights, these lights got through fine . Very impressive comparing with my previous set(s) from another well known competitor. Definitively, replacement of current sets on my 2003 BMW 1150 GSA (head lights and fog lights) is upcoming with Clearwater lights.

On the safety side, be seen without blinding and seeing what is coming at angles proved right from the installation as explained by Glenn to me until now. On the stylish side, well the girls love it as they marvelously blend with the motorcycle with key accent on the lens cover. On the maintenance side, hummm, so easy after knowing some of the restore or reboot tricks from the designer himself. Thanks Glenn.

Overall, serious common sense was applied in this entire concept from designs to products and it works extrememly well. I wish you had some additional accessories for metric tools as it would reduce the number to carry although only needed for so few (one) maintenance after 10 months of heavy usage.

We now have a distributor in Canada (Island BMW, Langford (close by Victoria), Canada as seen on your website.

Thanks again,
Andre G., Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Added Clearwater Lights to my FJR

I convinced my wife I needed anew set of Clearwater Lights, and Clearwater agreed to sell to me at the 15% discounted price through the FJRforums group buy.

So Santa dropped a set off for me under the tree this year! Evidently, I have been a good boy!

Installation was pretty much straight forward, but where the connectors attach to the FJR wiring harness can be a son of a bitch to get to. I doesn't help my garage is 20 degrees F when I did my install job.

Here is a pic of my wiring work in progress. What you dont see are the connectors to the headlight relay under the speedometer cluster. That is where I had all of my issues at.

All in all a great product!   Link to photos...

Pete A., Michigan

FYI - Today I tapped the Krista wiring into the high beam headlamp circuit. Awesome function between low beam running lights and brights... Whoever thought up the wiring scheme for the Kristas deserves a medal.

Best regards,

Mike B.

I have Glenda lights on my 2009 Kawasaki Versys, and a set of Krista’s on my 2010 Versys. Both are working great! The Glenda light (RHS) survived a 45mph drop that bent the mounting bracket out to a 45 degree angle. Replaced the bracket, and the light continues to work just fine.

Great Products!

Hi all-
Just wanted to let you know that my new Krista's are installed and I couldn't be happier with them. I also posted a nice write-up on advrider.com so hopefully you'll see a little business from it.
Here's the link:

Lastly...the flashlight is AMAZING. I'll be posting a seperate review of that in the 'Shiny things" section of advrider. When I have it written up, I'll send a link. Many thanks.

Hello Glenn,

I bought some of your new led lights for my BMW 1200RT and finally got the shop to hooking them up for me yesterday...

A lot of people seemed quite interested in your product. The service manager liked them and so did several customers who were there when I picked up the bike. I talked with 2 fellows on an RT and an 800GS and both were very impressed with the product. I gave them a demo of the lights/switch/location and everyone really liked them. So hopefully you may be hearing from them. I told them to call you because I am sure you would be interested in any feedback/sales/install info that could lead to maybe others purchasing your lights. I felt like a Clearwater Rep. talking to all of these people. It was fun.

When the weather brightens up and the sun comes out, I would like to send you some pictures of the finished product. They really tuck up under the fairing and look really nice. I went for a night ride last night to try the different settings on some dark back roads and was very impressed with them. The switch for the lights look very high quality and I was very impressed with the location under the left handlebar switchgear. Nice set up.

Thanks Glenn for a good product. Hope you get to sell some more up here. I plan on showing them off to my buddies at the BMW club up here. Some of the guys are interested already. I will send you some pics soon and also, can you send some of the Concourse 14 set up you were working on. Talk again soon. Thank you.

Warren B.

The HID light is stunning on my GS!!
Nice job and Kind Regards from Barcelona.
Come ride with us anytime.

Daniel

Hi Glenn,

The Glenda lights are installed and working as advertised. The 5/8" Stainless bolts arrived today. I’m very happy with Glenda lights and your service.
The snow is gone, temps in the 60s, going riding this PM.

Scotty N.

Just a quick note to say your LED's are brilliant.

I have just finished an Iron Butt UK Saddlesore 2000 challenge ride and the difference having these lights on the bike made was amazing. On Lonely dark roads it transformed it into daylight, I never expected the lights to be so bright, In daylight cars moved out of my way, something that isn’t an every day occurrence here in the UK.

I have attached the pictures from Lands End, England and John O'Groats, Scotland.
Once again thank you for the Lights, I am over the moon with them, and strongly believe they are far better in both quality and functionality than any of the completion.

Well, two plus months have past since my relationship with "Glenda" began.  Where to begin?

First, once again, your product is bulletproof!  The attention to detail from the billeted anodized housings to the internal wiring and connectors, installed to be worry-free are a GIFT!  If that isn't enough, they are just as advertised AND MORE!  You didn't tell me about the "HOV lane" advantage!

You call them "lights to be seen by".  Yes!  No question, I AM SEEN!!  However, as I was cruising along the twisties East of Mount Diablo, . . all alone, . . dark, VERY dark, 1:00AM: I found a real comfort in LIGHTING UP THE  W-O-R-L-D!!

My 2009 V-Rod VRSCAW has been approached so many times with the first comment being, "Man those lights are hella bright Dude!"   A driver in front of me actually got out of his car at a stoplight and asked, "Would it be possible to get you to turn your lights down?!?!"  "But of course!  I have the magic rheostat!"  (sometimes I forget they're on high beams)

In the H-D world?!?!  MANY inquires!  I give an informational exchange, to include names, addresses, specs, defined abilities of the HPLED, cost, (theirs, not mine), and phone numbers and the website with the caveat:  Be aware! . . . these lights are "addictive"!  . . . . If you like "Glenda", you'll LOVE her big Sister KRISTA!!  Word has it, daffodils bloom when you pass by!"

I finally got the new V-rod completed!  I've attached a few "very high res" pics that you may have to do with whatever you'd like.  They are yours.

Anything I can do for you, you need only ask my friend.

All the best to you and the guys in the shop -

Michael

PS: I got stopped by a Walnut Creek motor Officer because he wanted to know what kind of lights I had!  He pulled up beside me at a stoplight wanting to know about them, so I did something I've never done before:  I told him to pull over!  (We talked for a half hour!)

just wanted to let you know that I LOVE THESE LIGHTS!! It was still early when I left Sac, so I waited till dark. At half power, they help fill in the gap between the headlights and the front of the bike. Also I noticed that I could see more of reflective signs down the freeway. Going down the 680 section, the full power helped light up the sides and front a lot more. One bad thing is... with the LEDs, my headlights look dingy and yellow, I guess I have to find a whiter headlamp bulb for my bike now. HA!!

Also wanted to thank Skip for his work, he is a great technician. He explained things as he went along and did a fantastic job!

And would you know that it's a small world. I had not connected the dots between CLEARWATER LIGHTS and CLEARWATER AUDIO.

Thanks again for all your help!

Peter

I just had a set of Clearwater HPLED”s installed onto my BMW this Saturday. They work wonderful and gave me just what I was looking for. Lights in a triangular formation allowing me to be seen where the reflective road signs are lit up like never before. I would highly recommend this produce to everyone if for no other reason than a safety accessory. I looking forward to seeing how these light will light up the reflective piping on other riders running attar both from behind and on coming. The investment was totally worthwhile.

"I met Glenn at MotoGP this year and checked out his products which I got to examine closely... they are immaculate! Really truly excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail... and for the price it's a bargain...sadly, I am unable to afford at this time, the UI checks don't stretch that far.

There is also a big brother (ERICA) to this light system, one I reckon might fry the paint off of a lane-hogging hog if you care to get that close...you can always put out the fire with the aft-squirters...I think it was in the $1200 dollar range, and will light up the moon or something like that...

...I want to commend Glenn for his business ethics, his compassion for the offer to donate proceeds to Tyler, as well as the breast cancer fund, and finally for the quality of his products. A great guy with a terrific idea to help make our rides a little safer... GREAT JOB!"

"I took about 3 hours to install the lights. Very easy to do and well engineered kit . Great light output and I love the dimmer. Thank you."

"I wanted to provide a quick ride report on these lights. I did a night run from Hooterville, Mo back to Wentzville. The Clearwaters are just fantastic. They project very well (sides and foward) and the option of turning them down without having to turn them off is a great feature. I run Phillips +80s for headlamps and the Clearwater supplement these nicely.

The install is straight forward. Glenn and his team have been more than helpful with all aspects in acquiring these lights. If any of you are looking for supplemental lighting, I would encourage you to take a close look at the Clearwaters Thanks and ride safe."

(From an LED engineer)

"First impressions...WOW! I didn't expect that much light! Riding down the road with beams on high is almost like riding in a car with lights on bright. Very wide angles of light along with very far projection of light down the road makes for a surprising bit of clarity at night. I rode around for a while and even saw a large deer crossing in front of me from about 100 yards out!

During the installation, I considered not using the PWM or Hi/Low relay and just doing a "straight" installation thinking that I would never want these lights on anything but full bright. Thankfully, I decided to install everything per the directions. Having the ability to dim these lights is a MUST. Without it, I would be blinding on coming traffic even with my bike's headlights on low. I think I have them dimmed to 50% when my bike's lights are on low beam. Flick them on high and, BAM!!!! supernova! The lights' intensity is unbearable to look at. I parked my bike and had my wife switch to high beams while I was 100 feet or so out in front of the bike. It was so freaking bright that I could not look at it! It was a punishing light source (in a good way).

...Overall, I'd give these lights an A minus. Would have been an A plus with FJR specific wiring directions (that's just me being picky)." (Editor’s note: Bike specific directions are now included. And full color wiring diagrams are now emailed to every customer and can be downloaded from our website).

"Yes, I'm impressed! Kudos to you and your team. Good job on all accounts!"
